The actress was born in Oakland, California in 1996 and her real birth name is Zendaya Coleman. When she was a kid, she belonged to the California Shakespeare Festival, where she was trained to become an actress. At that time, she also managed to appear in a couple of stage plays. Zendaya was a student at the Oakland School for the Arts. While there, she appeared in the stage play called “Once on This Island” where she was chosen for a role of Little Ti Moune.
