Vera Wang was born in 1949 in New York City. In addition to designing wedding dresses, Vera Wang has also designed figure skating outfits. She was born in a family of immigrants as her parents moved to the United States from China. Vera Wang was attending Sarah Lawrence College. When she was only 8 years old, she got interested into figure skating and started attending lessons. In 1968, she appeared in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.
