Russell High School, he was a football star already and led his school’s football team to the 1992 Montana state title. He was scouted by many universities. Ryan Leaf could have played at the University of Miami as a linebacker, however, he chose to play for the Washington State Cougars as a quarterback instead. His coach there was Mike Price, who was also a coach of Drew Bledsoe. After his junior year, Ryan Leaf was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy, as well.
