Her father was an Australian-born American film director, producer and screenwriter John Villers Farrow, while her mother was an Irish actress best known for playing Jane in the Tarzan film series. While still incredibly young, at the age 21, Mia got married to Frank Sinatra, 30 years her senior. Their marriage did not survive: the divorce was finalized by the end of 1988. According to the actress, it was their age difference that made the relationship impossible. Speaking in her own words, at the time of her first wedding Mia was still an “impossibly immature teenager”.
